Open Data Day is a global celebration of open data. For the tenth year running, groups from around the world will create local events where they will learn about and use open data in their communities. Open Data Day is an opportunity to show the many benefits of different kinds of open data and encourage the adoption of relevantpolicies and practices in government, business and civil society.
At UCT, the libraries are hosting our Open Data Day event a day earlier (not on the weekend) to make sure that you can easily participate. We have lined up a variety of short (max. 10-minute) presentations, to get you inspired by your colleagues’ different open data practices.
After a whirlwind ride of Open Data Day lightning talks, there will be an informal panel discussion about the various data journeys taking place at UCT - come and share with us how you are contributing to the open movement!
